Greetings and Happy Lent!
A long time ago, in another place far, far away…, we sent an Open Letter to ICDA-US with our concerns. Today, we share the last update on the Open Letter.
We have not received any responses from ICDA-US Board since the previous email we sent to the Board on October 30, 2025 (see https://see.deafangels.page/emailoct3025)
As Christ said, when someone hits you on the cheek, you should turn the other cheek. We contacted the ICDA-US Board with the best intentions to help the organization with a few major issues. Unfortunately, they did not view our input as assistance and repeatedly ignored our requests with unnecessary accusations regarding our group’s legitimacy. One of our concerns was related to how meetings and ICDA-US Bylaws were managed. For instance, ICDA-US leadership did not seem to raise critical issues related to IRS and financial reports to share with members and ICDA-US Chapters. That shows a lack of transparency since ICDA-US is primarily a grassroots membership organization that depends on annual membership dues. The lack of action or public addressing those issues is a grave concern among members, including us.
As of now, we have not received any updates from the 75th Bash so far. They still have not shared any reports with the ICDA-US members, including financial statements, meeting minutes, or the Bylaws.
In the Volume 72, #3 newsletter (Fall/Winter 2025 Deaf Catholic), President Kate provided a short update on the IRS 501(c)(3) status:

As of this time, President Kate has not shared any update on the IRS progress as mentioned in the first paragraph in the image above.
As we begin 2026, it is time to move on to the next phase and begin a new journey. As part of closing this phase, all the information we have on our website has been moved to: https://cache.deafangels.page. A link on our https://deafangels.page will take you there. Why did we use "cache"? A cache holds things which consist of information we gathered, our research & findings. All communications between Deaf Angels and ICDA-US as well as our Open Letter and supporting documents are in the cache.
To be clear, we, the Deaf Angels, have no intention of encouraging anyone to leave ICDA‑US, and we remain committed to supporting the same initiatives you support within ICDA‑US.
As part of the new journey, we will have opportunities for all of you to be a part of. We encourage you to get involved and participate to chart a new path, vision and mission. We ask you to please share this email and our website (https://deafangels.page) with other people and encourage them to be part of this journey.
If you have news to share, feel free to send them to
Stay tuned and informed.
With Christ’s Blessings,
Deaf Angels
